2nd birthday memories

Ben turned two years old two weeks ago. There have been a handful of days since when he has woken up and announced that it is his birthday. Needless to say, I think he liked having a birthday. Typically, when we remember his birthday together, Ben makes some sort of comment about how Grandma made him a cake and "everybody ate my cake." (Sometimes, it's a little too easy to imagine him an old curmudgeon!)
We had a great day celebrating. Some things I don't want to forget about the day:
When Ben woke up, we sang "Happy Birthday!" He asked for it again and again. When we encouraged him to sing along, he sang, "Happy buh-dozer to you...."

All week, the forecast for Saturday said it would be dry. It rained. And it was cold - maxed out around 60. We had 19 people in our living room.

We had a bulldozer themed party because Ben is obsessed with bulldozers. Might have something to do with the road construction in our neighborhood all summer. We hit the ball out of the park with that theme - he LOVED it.

We all ate Ben's favorite for dinner: homemade lasagna.

Grandma Johnson made cupcakes and we frosted it as it they were one big cake.

Somehow, Ben new precisely how to blow out the candles.

Everything about the day worked out just perfectly.
And now that Ben has a whole new fleet of bulldozers, he plays with the cake topper bulldozers every single day.

So bummed we couldn't be there.
Looks like fun.
