Having a sick baby has the usual perks of extra long snuggle times and sleeping in (you know, 'til 6:30 instead of 5:30).
But wait - there's more!
The best way to treat croup is with cool air (something about restricting the inflammation in the airway tissue.) I wasn't exactly looking forward to this treatment - we haven't spent much time outside this winter. Three reasons for that:
1. Keith is outside all day every day and rather enjoys the heat at the end of the day.
2. Sara is inside all day every day and rather enjoys avoiding getting cold at the end of the day.
3. We've introduced Ben to snow and he didn't exactly love it.
BUT.... We've taken lots of walks this week and it turns out that Ben LOVES it!
Seems he doesn't mind the snow or being cold. It just has to be on his terms. (Where could he possible inherent that trait?!)

He likes to kick the snow on the snow banks, and then has quite a stomping ritual to get it all off.
He even went for a ride in his sled and was enjoying it until that nasty white stuff came up and touched his hands.
Then it was over.
The Hogan who makes out the best with this revelation?
Dodger, of course.

What is it with kids and kicking the snow? Abbie's been doing that for about a week now. Running to the bank, kicking it and then yelling, "I kicked a snow." We should get those two together, stick 'em on a driveway and charge for snow clearing!
