Sand

Ben has always hated to get dirty - especially on his hands or feet. Even playground sand in a table takes some getting used to - and once he does, he only plays with a tool in his hand - never touching it. I knew sand wouldn't be a love-at-first-sight scenario. But I'm not sure I was expecting it to be labeled "yucky" either.



If you're wondering why we were alone in such a gorgeous place on such a gorgeous day, it's because we shot this around 6am. We'd already been up for a few hours - it was our roughest day. Ben did great falling asleep and even napping, but staying in bed in the mornings wasn't easy. Luckily, he started waking up earlier and earlier (I know!) and was still sleepy enough to crawl in bed with us for a few hours. We all secretly loved it. And once he did wake up, we all laid around and watched cartoons - IN BED. Florida is a magical place, I'm telling you!



I love how Ben found a way to play without sitting in the sand. Just because he's neurotic, doesn't make him dumb!
