Ben's first (and last) Pet Expo

It started out quite innocently. Grandma Hogan needed a new kitten. There was a Pet Expo scheduled in Grand Rapids. We committed to going and finding her a Kitty Cat.
The Expo started at 10am. Grandma inked the adoption papers around 10:15am.
Then we were left to explore. Ben loved it because we didn't bring the stroller and since we accomplished our mission so early, we let him decide what we explored.
Before we left, we decided to encourage him to do the activities we wanted him to do. But it was getting close to nap time and he was exhausted from all the walking. So these activities involved a paci, a blankey, and lots of encouragement. (there are no pictures leading up to this because he never stood still long enough!)

Ben kept wanting Daddy to pick up the chicks, but did not want to touch them AT ALL.
The goats, however, kept him coming back for more!!!
(Is michigan the only place with goats at a pet expo??)

The ponies got an enthusiastic YeeHaw!! from a distance, but Ben did not even come close to sitting in the saddle.

It's just not the same as Sandy, I guess.

And then, at the end of it all, we somehow managed to bring home a dog.
Meet Molly.

Don't ask me how it happened - I don't really know.
But I DO know now why Hogans don't go to pet expos. Ever.
Never ever.

WHAT? Love the spontinaity (sp?). So...when are you moving?
P.S. I was going to make the same joke about people in Michigan going to pet expos hoping to find a goat!
