Hidden Benefits

Our day care provider has two high school aged sons who adore Ben, mostly because he adores them. They are the reason he loves lacrosse, always (ALWAYS) turns a football so his fingers are over the laces before throwing it (with amazing accuracy), plays defense now when "shootin' hoops" and lately... beat boxes.

You heard me. Do all the aunts out there know what that means? I'll work on getting him to do it on video, but picture a 2 year old version of this.

Up until yesterday, it's been a pretty one-sided relationship - one where the big boys teach Ben new things. Yesterday, Ben was playing lacrosse with one of the big boys ("I was rolling the blue ball to him so he could SCOOP! it up") and the boy missed the ball and got a little frustrated. Ben's response was to calmly explain that the boy needed to make better choices. What a character!

That's a sign of some pretty great parenting, Sara Jo!
