Lacrosse Game

Tonight, Ben attending his very first lacrosse game. It was a very special night for him. He sat perfectly still and awe struck for the first half. During the second half, he started playing his own game, careful to always raise his stick when the teams huddled and asking lots of questions. I was surprised how carefully he was actually following the game, telling me who scored, and keeping track of which team was which (both teams were red & white).

We were there to see his idols, our day care providers two sons play on the varsity team. After the game, the boys' dad asked Ben if he wanted to go tell the boys good job. Ben ran across the field. We saw the younger of the two boys step away from his friends and run out to pick up Ben (who was still holding his stick). They managed to find a ball and the boy threw it on the ground and told Ben to show the guys how he knows how to scoop. Ben did proudly and the entire varsity team cheered for Ben. We then saw him float back to us, barely touching the ground, carrying the game ball they told him to keep.

The kid hasn't been the same since. And we haven't left home without a lacrosse stick since.
